If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes
2020
Four years ago, I was at my corporate job, waiting in a conference room as as others would slowly trickle in for the meeting. Having just graduated the year prior, I was the youngest one there. The meeting started, and like always, I would start to zone out. Except this time, was different. I started to take notice of my colleagues, particularly their age and next, just how obvious it was that they didn’t want to be there. Then it hit me, if I did nothing different in my life, then I was staring at my future.
That scared me. I didn’t want that.
I soon thereafter learned about FIRE (Financial Independence Retired Early) and the holy grail, passive income, being able to detach my time from making money. This was it, this was my way out. And so in 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and start a blog, this one. Knowing myself and my tendency to never finish what I set out to do, I made the commitment to blog for at least 1 year no matter what. And I did… but stopped afterwards.
